The experience of visiting a bakery shop is a warm and delightful sensory event.
Automating this experience, to imitate and give the user the same cues
was the main problem ALCOVE faced while developing their 24/7 bakery vending machine.
To win over skeptical users, our Sensory Softening strategy focused on making the machine feel instantly familiar, like a real bakery.
We replaced the cold, metallic design with a soft, counter form, added warmth with natural wood, and built trust using clear glass and soft LEDs with a colorful background to highlight the products.
